BHERC is a public benefit organization who for the past 25 years, has endeavored to highlight the essential roles that Blacks have contributed to TV/Film. The non-profit organization was founded by Sandra Evers-Manly, to “spotlight” diversity and the stellar contributions of Black film and television artists from the beginning of the genres to the present. Artists who bring dignity and professionalism to even the most menial of roles. BHERC festivals celebrate, promote black history and culture and the richness and power of Black filmmakers who lead the struggle for positive and quality Black films that speak to the Black experience.
